Engines and performance for the Fiat Fiorino

The engines for the Fiat Fiorino Combi includes a 1.4 litre petrol engine producing 76 hp and returning 40 mpg. For those who travel more miles, then the 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel unit produces either 79 hp or 94 hp and should return around 72 mpg - with the stop/start feature and economy is 63mpg without it. The diesel engines make this a cheap MPV to run. The emissions for the diesel engines are 104g/km.

Equipment and handling

While the Fiat Fiorino Combi is based on the firm's smallest van, the extra row of seats and conversion into becoming a people carrier is impressive. There is a lot of space and access is easy with the sliding side door. The boot size measures 360 litres, which expands to 2,500 litres with the rear seats folded flat. The driver's position is comfortable with a good view of the surroundings and the seat and steering wheel are easily adjustable. The cabin also has a range of compartments and it has been designed to be practical and sturdy to withstand lots of hard use, particularly from families. The handling is responsive and it is more at home around town and on long motorway journeys though the body roll is controlled fairly well on winding country roads. There's a 5-inch infotainment touchscreen featuring DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and the better spec models have larger alloy wheels, roof bars and the option of electronic stability control to give better grip on a variety of surfaces. Essentially, the Fiat Fiorino Combi does not hide the fact that it's based on a small van but it is a great small MPV offering for those families looking for practicality and a cheap car to run that has plenty of space.
