Electric Car Leasing & Charging FAQs

Charging times vary by charger speed and battery size. A 7 kW home wallbox adds around 25–30 miles of range per hour, while a 50 kW rapid charger can top up most EVs from 20 to 80 percent in 40–60 minutes.

A typical 7 kW charger will fully charge a 60 kWh battery in roughly 8–9 hours. Perfect for overnight home charging.

Depending on model and conditions, most modern EVs cover 180 – 300 miles on a full charge. Premium long-range cars can exceed 350 miles.

Some supermarket or workplace chargers are free, but most public networks now charge per kWh (typically £0.40 – £0.79 /kWh). Always check the app or sign for accurate pricing.

Most batteries are designed to last 10 – 15 years or 100 000 – 150 000 miles. Many manufacturers guarantee at least 70 % capacity after 8 years.

Frequent rapid charging is safe but can increase battery wear slightly. Regular slower (AC) charging is gentler and ideal for everyday use.
