The Dacia Logan MCV was relaunched in 2017 with an improved practical estate car offering. It's not only cheap to run but great for families with a robust interior and nice handling.
ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE DACIA LOGAN
The revamp saw a choice of TCe 90 petrol and dCi 90 diesel engines being introduced along with a Euro 6 compliant SCe 75 unit - a sprightly 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The petrol engines come with stop and start and are mated to either a manual gearbox or the firm's 'Easy R' automated manual box. There's also a very good dCi 75 diesel unit available, again with a stop and start a boost economy to around 70mpg.
EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING
The 2017 new model of the Dacia Logan MCV (Maximum Capacity Vehicle) maintains the large interior cabin and boot, which is a useful 573 litres in size. The exterior styling has been tweaked and it now looks more rugged.
With sales increasing, the firm has shifted more than 4 million models in recent years, the entry level model is lacking equipment, the mid-range and higher specified versions of the Logan MCV offer great value for money. The interior has been redesigned, there's a new dashboard, and for families the materials will take robust use.
Out on the road, the Dacia Logan is a nice car to drive with good steering feedback and good grip on winding roads; it's also comfortable over long journeys and agile around town as well. Essentially, while the Dacia Logan MCV may not be on many potential driver’s shortlist, it's certainly worth considering with a value for money offering that is hard to beat, it’s also reliable with low running costs which makes it a sound choice for families and for those who need a spacious estate for their everyday needs.
