Overview of the Aston Martin DBX

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE ASTON MARTIN DBX

Part of the excellent performance and great handling of the contract hire Aston Martin DBX is down to the 4.0-litre engine that has been sourced from Mercedes-AMG.

The engine produces 542 bhp with torque of 700Nm and delivers a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 4.5 seconds. The top speed is 181 mph.

The power is delivered using a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the four-wheel drive ensures the grip is strong and electronic differentials also send power to the wheel that's in most need of it. Fuel economy for the DBX car lease is 20 mpg, and emissions are 269g/km.

The result is an SUV that offers best in class handling, practicality and lots of comfort. This is an SUV that will excel when taken off-road while delivering impressive performance on tarmac, particularly on long motorway journeys.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE ASTON MARTIN DBX

The contract hire Aston Martin DBX is an impressive car to drive around town, and it's also not shy about being taken off-road.

There's an excellent air suspension system with adaptive dampers and an anti-roll system to deliver comfort and grip, and it helps that the suspension can be raised and lowered that makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

The interior has been well-designed and is a premium offering with lots of metal, wood, leather and Alcantara. It's also a spacious cabin that will carry four adults in comfort and the boot is larger than most rivals in the segment - which makes this a great choice for long-distance road trips.

Behind the wheel, there's good feedback from the steering system and it doesn't handle like a large, luxury SUV. The responsiveness and handling are similar to a 'hot' estate car with the suspension smoothing out rough roads very nicely. It also corners really well, thanks to a system called eARC that is designed to combat the physics when cornering and deploying extra force when necessary. And since the suspension can be quickly raised, wading through rivers at a depth of 500mm is a breeze.

There are various driving modes, but we rather liked the cosseting that came with the 'comfort' suspension setting which also delivered more refinement on a motorway journey. The premium interior includes a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that is smartphone compatible. There's also a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and lots of buttons. The boot size is 632 litres, that's more than some rivals, and the options list is impressive, including a portable washer to clean a dog after a stroll.

Safety features include lane keep assist, cruise control and there's an emergency braking system with pedestrian detection. Drivers also get lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and rear cross traffic warning. The DBX hasn't been tested by Euro NCAP for crash test safety, and since it will sell in small numbers, it's unlikely to do so. However, there's no doubt that this is a very safe car that is packed with safety equipment, great brakes and an impressive body shell.

Essentially, if you are looking for a luxury SUV and want to stand apart from the crowd, then the Aston Martin DBX car lease is the vehicle to do it in; it's an impressive car to drive, has impressive levels of luxury and decent practicality to make it an easy contract hire car to live with.
