Toyota is strengthening its product line-up in the UK with the addition of the new Verso compact MPV alongside the recently launched British-built Auris.

Toyota Verso

Toyota’s new Verso

Essentially, this car is taking on the Nissan Note and does a decent job of it too. There are three spec levels with a mix of fittings including DAB digital tuner, cruise control, rear privacy glass and retractable door mirrors.

The new look Verso was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September and the eight model range includes a five-seat entry level model, alongside seven-seat versions with Toyota’s quick and simple Easy Flat rear seat folding system.

After a dreadful year for PR in which Toyota was subject to some incredible recalls on its cars, the firm is pulling out all the stops to introduce cracking cars to win back its fans.

We recently gave details of the new RAV4, which is also a winner.

The new Verso is being built in Britain and part its retyling is to bring it in line with the rest of the Toyota range and help give the car a ‘premium feel’.

Toyota have made 300 changes to this new model incluiding the improvement of material used in the interior (a long time complaint of Toyota is that their interiors look cheap) which also sees new lighting and graphics introduced for the instruments and controls.

There are four engines to choose from, two petrol and two diesel, while the top level trim of Excel has an interesting level of spec for the price.

You can order the Verso now and have it deleivered next month. Prices start at £17,495.
