OK so it has cute styling and pretty decent handling but it’s expensive for what it is (especially at the entry level models) but the Fiat 500 has racked up 100,000 sales.

So obviously price isn’t a factor for most of the buyers who aren’t aware of some of the reliability issues either.
But it’s taken just four and a half years to reach the landmark sales figure, so hats off to Fiat.
The supermini segment is very competitive and this car even made the top ten sales chart in April.
Fiat says that 80 per cent of all 500 sales have been 1.2-litre petrol engine versions and that 48 per cent of cars purchased are in the top-of-the-range Lounge trim. The most popular colour choices are Bossanova white, Pasodoble red, Volare light blue and the metallic Crossover black.
The Fiat 500 was International Car of the Year in 2008.
