Contract hire Skoda Octavia

The Skoda Octavia is the latest contract hire model in the carmaker’s range to go electric with the unveiling of a plug-in hybrid.

This is the new plug-in hybrid Skoda Octavia which will be available to order from November.

Prices start at £30,765 for what will be a very good car leasing option.

The new petrol/electric hybrid system in the Octavia offers a combined output of 204 PS.

The 85kW motor is powered by a 13kWh battery to deliver an all-electric range of 43 miles – a useful feature for commuters.

The new plug-in hybrid Skoda Octavia will be available in estate and hatchback body styles and with two trims; the SE Technology and SE L.

The hybrid system uses a 1.4-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine and the electric motor to deliver torque of 350Nm.

That means the Octavia delivers lots of grip and power from a standing start.

For those who use a domestic or workplace charging point, then the Octavia’s battery will take around 3.5 hours to recharge from empty to full.

The fuel economy for the plug-in hybrid Octavia is up to 282 mpg with fuel emissions of just 33g/km.

The low emissions mean that company car drivers will benefit from the low Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate of just 6%.

Skoda Octavia iV plug-in hybrid

The Skoda Octavia iV plug-in hybrid uses a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard, plus the Octavia’s line-up contains the firm’s familiar diesel and petrol engines.

The range also includes a mild-hybrid model with a 1.0-litre petrol engine with three cylinders which is mated to a 14kW battery to generate 108bhp of power.

Standard equipment includes decorative door sills, 18-inch alloy wheels, and there’s a storage compartment in the boot for the car’s charging cables.

The Skoda Octavia has been a popular choice with families and for contract hire company car drivers with low running costs and impressive levels of reliability – and the new plug-in offering is likely to be a popular choice.
