The new Mercedes A Class is now on sale.

The new Mercedes A Class is now on sale.

The specification and pricing for the new Mercedes A Class have been revealed.

The prices start at £25,800 OTR for the A Class 180 d SE which is the entry-level model.

There’s also a choice of one diesel engine and two petrol units available from launch. All the engines will have a seven speed automatic box.

Three trims available for the Mercedes A Class

From launch, there will also be three trims available for the Mercedes A Class with the SE, Sport and the AMG Line.

There’s also plenty of equipment in what is a well specified vehicle and entry-level model features two 7-inch touchscreens with a multi-media system and voice activation.

There’s also 16 inch alloy wheels, comfort suspension, DAB radio along with speed limit assist and active lane keeping assist.

Engines for the Mercedes A Class

The engines for the Mercedes A Class include a 1.5 litre diesel engine which produces 116 hp with economy of 70 mpg and has a top speed of 125 mph.

There’s also a 1.4 litre petrol unit which produces 163 hp with economy of 51 mpg. For those who want better performance, the A Class 250 has a 2.0 litre petrol engine which produces 224 hp with economy of 46 mpg.

As usual with Mercedes, the A Class comes with several options including an executive upgrade which costs nearly £1,400 and replaces the 7-inch central touchscreen with a 10.25 inch screen along with heated front seats and active parking assist with Parktronic.

For those who want something special, the Premium equipment includes a cockpit display, ambient lighting, keyless go and an upgraded sound system.

Of the trims, the A Class AMG Line features 18 inch alloy wheels, body styling, a three spoke sports steering wheel and microfibre upholstery.

Other options for potential drivers include the Premium Plus equipment package which adds a memory function for the front seats and a panoramic sunroof and the LED headlights feature adaptive high beam assist.

The new Mercedes A Class is available to buy now with deliveries starting in late May.
