Taking your car on a first date is always a bit of a worry, isn’t it? They say that our choice of vehicle says a lot about us and you don’t want your potential new partner to think that you are a fool, a nerd or a cheapskate. They’ll find that out soon enough in other ways, like when you turn down the offer to supersize your first meal together.

A new survey has revealed that women like to see their date turn up in – you’re not going to guess this at all – a posh car.
Who would have believed it? The ladies don’t want to be courted in Ladas; they want Lamborghinis. Next they will be telling us that the female species has a weakness for shopping for shoes and that men squeeze toothpaste tubes in the middle…
Anyway, the number one car for amorous ladies looking for a bit of romance is the good old Aston Martin. Yeah, because James Bond would have been a blooming good date, wouldn’t he? Sure, he would have taken you for a spin in his cool car and been all smarmy and super agenty but before you know it you would have been dodging flying bowler hats and evil men with fluffy cats.
Where’s the Love for the Coffee Makers?
Come on ladies, what you really want is a guy with a reliable car which tells you that he is a solid, dependable sort of chap who will pay the mortgage on time each month and knows how to serve a decent cup of coffee. Isn’t it? Isn’t it?
It seems not, sadly for expert coffee makers and mortgage payers like me, as Lamborghinis, Porsches, Ferraris and other posh cars make up the rest of the list.
Ah well, maybe I’ll just forget about paying the mortgage this month, get a flipping Aston Martin and start drinking stupid cocktails which don’t even make sense.
