Škoda Scala Lease Deals

The Škoda Scala is a five-door petrol family hatchback with 467 litres of boot space, five seats and a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Our editorial covers the petrol engines, the three Edition trims and what to check before you order.

The Škoda Scala is a five-door family hatchback built around space rather than showmanship. It measures 4.36 m long, seats five, and swallows 467 litres of luggage with the rear seats up - more than plenty of cars that cost considerably more.

It sits between the smaller Škoda hatchbacks and the larger Octavia, and it suits drivers who want family-hatch room and running costs without stepping into an SUV. Reviewers consistently describe it as comfortable, practical and easy to live with, rather than exciting.

The choice is simple: one hatchback body, petrol power from 94 to 148 bhp with manual or automatic gearboxes, and three trims - SE Edition, SE L Edition and Monte Carlo Edition.

About the Škoda Scala

The Scala is Škoda's conventional family hatchback: front-wheel drive, petrol only, with five seats and room left over. The current Scala has been on sale in this form since 2024.

Road testers return to the same points every time. The boot is the headline - 467 litres with the seats up, 1,410 litres folded - and rear legroom is generous for the class. The trade-off is that it prioritises calm over driver entertainment.

Build quality and the straightforward cabin layout draw praise too, particularly the physical climate controls that survive when rivals bury everything in a screen. Every Scala comes with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

Why lease a Škoda Scala?

Because the standard kit list covers the things you'd otherwise pay extra for. Every Scala has built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors.

Safety assistance is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition. Euro NCAP awarded the Scala five stars, with 97% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupant protection.

Practicality is the reason most people end up here. Five seats, 1,410 litres with the rear bench folded, a 10.2 m turning circle for town work, and braked towing of up to 1,250 kg on the right version.

One thing worth doing before you order: check the trim's wheel size against the roads you drive. Bigger alloys look better and rarely improve ride comfort, and kerbed wheels are one of the most common end-of-contract charges we deal with.

Which Scala powertrain is right for me?

There's one answer here: petrol. The Scala has no hybrid or electric version, so nothing to plug in, and every version drives the front wheels through a manual or automatic gearbox.

Petrol

Power runs from 94 to 148 bhp, using 1.0 to 1.5-litre engines with 3 or 4 cylinders and 5, 6 or 7-speed gearboxes. WLTP economy is 49.6 to 55.4 mpg and CO2 116 to 128 g/km. 0-62 mph ranges from 8.2 to 10.8 seconds depending on the version.

In plain terms: the lower-powered engines suit town and commuter mileage, while the 1.5-litre is the one road testers recommend if you spend real time on motorways. If you're weighing up fuel types more broadly, our petrol, diesel or electric guide is a sensible starting point.

Which Scala trim should I choose?

All three trims share the same body and the same core equipment, so the decision is about wheels, comfort kit and how sporty you want it to look.

SE Edition

The entry version starts at 94 bhp and rides on 16-inch "Nyota" alloys with a dark chrome design logo, plus cloth upholstery, full LED headlights, front fog lights, a 9.2" Škoda navigation display, rear-view camera and rear parking sensors. Adaptive cruise, heated seats, keyless entry and wireless charging are all available as options.

The SE Edition is currently available from £216.36 a month.

SE L Edition

SE L Edition moves to 17-inch "Stratos" alloys and adds a convenience pack, privacy glass and white and red ambient lighting, along with heated front seats, keyless entry and start, front parking sensors, voice control and power-folding mirrors. Matrix LED headlights and a heated steering wheel are optional.

The SE L Edition is currently available from £285.59 a month. Against the SE Edition, that is currently £69.23/mo more expensive.

Monte Carlo Edition

This is the sporty-looking one, though it's as much about kit as looks. It adds 18-inch "Ursa" black diamond-cut alloys, a fixed panoramic glass roof, carbon-effect art-leather door inserts, front sports seats, matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel and wireless charging. It starts at 114 bhp, with a powered tailgate and blind-spot monitoring optional.

The Monte Carlo Edition is currently available from £331.73 a month. Against the SE L Edition, that is currently £46.14/mo more expensive.

If you like the Scala's format but want a different flavour, the Volkswagen Golf covers much the same family-hatchback ground, while the CUPRA Leon takes a sharper, more style-led approach to the class.

Škoda Scala FAQs

Yes, and it's the main reason people choose it. There are five seats, 467 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, and reviewers consistently single out rear legroom as generous for the class. Euro NCAP scored it 87% for child occupant protection.

No. The Scala range is petrol only, from 94 to 148 bhp, so there's nothing to charge and no electric-only range to plan around. WLTP economy runs from 49.6 to 55.4 mpg depending on the version and gearbox.

It holds 467 litres with the rear seats up and 1,410 litres with them folded. That's the same on every version and trim, and it's the figure that tends to win the Scala its comparisons against other hatchbacks of this size.

Braked towing runs from 1,000 kg up to 1,250 kg depending on the version, with unbraked limits of 600 to 630 kg. A fixed towbar is a factory option across the trims, so it needs specifying at order stage - retro-fitting on a lease car isn't straightforward.

Škoda covers the Scala with a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. Servicing is every 24 months or 18,600 miles. There's no spare wheel - a tyre repair kit is supplied instead.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Rentals move as stock, terms and mileage change, and the cheapest version on any given day isn't always the entry trim. Check the current Škoda Scala deals below, or ask our team to run through the options with you.
