It’s an eagerly awaited addition to the UK’s crossover market and the excellent Volkswagen T-Cross will reach our shores with a limited First Edition model.
The practical SUV will have just 250 versions of them will be available though the full T-Cross range will have its order books open in March.
The First Edition comes with lots of extra kit and it’s worth a closer look.
Engine for the Volkswagen T-Cross First Edition
The engine for the Volkswagen T-Cross First Edition is a 1.0 litre TSI petrol unit that offers frugal performance with power of 115 PS and this is mated as standard to a six-speed manual box.
This First Edition also has two-wheel drive, so those looking for all-wheel drive performance will have to wait until the full range is unveiled.
Despite this, there’s lots of practicality, including sliding rear seats for an extra 70 litres of storage capacity being fitted as standard. Alternatively, slide these seats forward and have another 140 mm of extra legroom.
The equipment upgrades also include a beats sound system, satnav and LED headlights.

Also, the Volkswagen T-Cross First Edition will only be available in pure white and come with silver roof rails and unique black styling. There’s also 18-inch alloy wheels and an exclusive decal on its C-pillar.
Other equipment includes safety kit such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot sensors and lane assist, again, all fitted as standard.
The new car will be arriving in April and the order books open from 5 February.
The First Edition offers a lot for the money and it is sure to be a popular choice once the full range is available.
Volkswagen obviously has high hopes for the new T-Cross with three worldwide premiers to help launch the car.

The new car is slightly smaller than the T-Roc sibling and is part of the German carmaker’s drive to deliver a wider selection of SUV crossover models for the public.
They say there could be up to 30 models available over the next six years which will account for half of its worldwide sales.
