We’re just a few days away from BMW’s new 6 Series Gran Coupe being available.
THE NEW BMW 6 SERIES GRAN COUPÉ
This is the German marque’s first four-door coupé and is an elegant and sporty classic grand tourer.
It has a stretched wheelbase which helps improve the cabin space and becomes the sixth model to the 6 Series range.
For petrolheads out there, the Gran Coupe has a new 450hp twin-turbo V8 which will help set the tarmac alight.
That’s among a choice of three TwinPower Turbo engines, which also includes six-cylinder petrol and six-cylinder diesel powerplants. All three engines drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission and come with the full suite of BMW’s EfficientDynamics technologies, including the (irritating to some) Auto Start-Stop.
There’s extensive use of aluminium in the body and chassis which helps reduce weight and ensures that – as BMW claims – the “6 Series Gran Coupé has the agility and precision expected of a BMW”. Hopefully, with 450hp under the bonnet its new owners will be able to keep it on the road.
The car is available from June.
