The new contract hire Citroen C4 and e-C4 have been officially launched in the UK.

The new Citroen C4 and e-C4 car leasing models have officially been unveiled.

Citroen says their offering will shake-up the hatchback segment and the new creations will ‘exceed customer expectations’.

With just one body style, contract hire drivers will have the choice of diesel, petrol or 100% electric powertrain choices.

There’s no doubt that the new exterior styling as a coupe-SUV is in sharp contrast to the traditional family hatchback.

Contract hire Citroen C4

The trim for the contract hire Citroen C4 range consists of four choices.

The entry-level Sense features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, lane-keeping assist and rear parking sensors.

Along with an active safety brake, drivers also get a 10-inch display for the infotainment system, an electric parking brake and dual-zone climate control.

The next model features a head-up display, electrically folding door mirrors, a rear parking camera and connected services from Citroen that includes weather information, fuel prices and live traffic updates.

The Shine trim offers rear and front parking sensors, privacy glass and adaptive cruise control.

The flagship model, the Shine Plus, has heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, a premium sound system and the firm’s highway driver assist system for adjusting automatically the direction and speed of the car when on motorways.

The Citroen C4 range

Engines for the Citroen C4 range include two diesel and three petrol units with a range of outputs.

The more powerful units use the firm’s excellent eight-speed automatic transmission.

However, the new pure-electric powertrain will be attracting lots of attention and there’s a 50kWh battery with an electric motor to develop 135 bhp.

The Citroen e-C4 has a range of 217 miles, a top speed of 93 mph and a sprint time from 0 to 62 mph of 9.7 seconds.

The battery can be recharged in 30 minutes to 80% of its capacity using a fast charger – when being recharged home, this can take seven hours.

Handling for the Citroen C4 and the e-C4

The handling for the Citroen C4 and the e-C4 has been improved with the firm’s hydraulic suspension setup to boost ride quality.

The cabin is spacious with a boot size of 380 litres and the interior has been well-designed.

There’s a lot to like about the new Citroen C4 and e-C4 as family vehicles and they make for a sound car leasing choice.
