Volkswagen has announced a major revamp of its third-generation contract hire Touareg, boasting numerous advancements and design enhancements.

VW has also increased the charging capacity of the SUV’s USB-C connections from 15 watts to 45 watts for faster charging of electronic devices.

The carmaker has also listened to customers, so the interior has been improved, including softer centre console trims for added passenger comfort.

Volkswagen’s premium SUV also comes equipped with an impressive array of standard convenience and assistance systems, as well as a wide selection of optional technologies. These enhancements aim to provide drivers with a safer and more enjoyable driving experience.

Some of the standout optional technologies include Travel Assist, which enables assisted driving at maximum speed; Park Assist Plus with remote control, allowing drivers to automatically park their vehicle using a mobile app; Trailer Assist for easier manoeuvering with a trailer; and Night Vision, which provides assistance during nighttime drives.

The new Touareg also offers a range of powertrains, including a turbocharged petrol engine, two turbodiesel engines and two plug-in hybrids – all are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the permanent all-wheel drive system, 4MOTION.
