It lands on these shores in the summer and potential buyers have two model choices for Subaru’s new BRZ.

The Subaru BRZ has been acclaimed for delivering a thoroughbred driving experience thanks to its lightweight, low centre of gravity and rear-wheel-drive chassis balance.

Subaru is putting the high-revving 2.0 litre Boxer engine in the models which will be priced from £24,995 to £27,995.

For this, buyers of the Subaru BRZ will have a pretty decent level of equipment and trim. The models will have a six-speed manual gearbox or, for a hefty £1,500 more, a six-speed automatic with paddle shift operation. Insiders say a more basic S model is anticipated for launch next year.

To help attract Subaru BRZ buyers (and soften the blow of the potential insurance premiums) Subaru have a great aftercare package which is one of the best currently on offer.

At no additional cost, Subaru’s cover will repair minor dent and scratch repairs, alloy wheel repairs and includes a monthly wash, annual valet, lost keys replacement, service collection and delivery, annual wheel alignment check, its first MOT cover, and winter wheel and tyre storage.

The firm also provides an accident management service and a contribution to insurance cover excess which is on top of its three-year/60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.

As sports cars go it’s going to be a contender and should be able to carve its own dedicated following – before buying a Subaru BRZ checkout the leasing costs of ownership and see how much you could save.
