The new Audi Q3 is the firm’s latest incarnation of its compact SUV which now has a sharper look, more efficient engines and more kit on board.
Available to order from this month, it will begin appearing on our roads from next spring.
Audi has taken great care to improve the safety and styling of its new model and it’s also one efficient and has more power.
The new Audi RS Q3 is the flagship
The carmaker has also revealed details that the flagship of the range will be its RS Q3 which will have a total power output of 340PS.
There are also two new TDI ‘clean’ diesel engines as well as three TFSI units which are more frugal than the previous engine range.
The SUV now includes the 1.4litre TFSI CoD which is now 13% more efficient than the engine it replaces. The CoD stands for ‘cylinder-on-demand’ technology which is a feature of the Audi A1 and A3 ranges.
The engine is coupled to the choice of manual or the firm’s S tronic twin clutch auto transmission and which will see the Q3 go from 0 to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds. It should also return around 50 mpg.
The Audi Q3 has excellent performance
Of the petrol units, there’s an impressive 2.5 litre five cylinder TFSI variant which is fitted exclusively to the RS Q3.
This engine will power the SUV from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds, that’s faster than the 5.2 seconds of the current model, while owners should see economy of around 33 mpg.
Handling has also been improved and the new Audi Q3 has a redesigned chassis and the adaptive dynamic system, which was an option previously, is now fitted as standard which means that the driver can opt for various damper controls.

Essentially, this means that if they require a more sporty and dynamic performance then the vehicle’s suspension system can be tweaked to perform as such.
There is plenty of space on board for five adults and standard kit includes things like Bluetooth connectivity, dual zone climate control and an audio system which comes with a manually retractable 6.5 inch colour display screen.
There’s also LED headlights, 8 inch alloy wheels and the interior has been seriously enhanced by designers to be a comfortable and impressive place to be.
The new Audi Q3 will cost from £25,340 to £30,820 OTR while prices for the Audi RS Q3 will be unveiled near to its January 2015 at launch.
