Contract hire Kia Niro front
The all-new contract hire Kia Niro pricing and specification has been revealed with a choice of hybrid and pure-electric powertrains.

The all-new Kia Niro car lease range has been unveiled and this is a crossover that has been redesigned completely by the carmaker.

Kia says that its new model will now meet the diverse and complex needs of environmentally conscious drivers wanting to lease a great car.

The latest features include the use of more recycled and sustainable materials for the interior, and a range of electrified powertrains.

There are three variants available with prices starting at £27,745.

All-new contract hire Kia Niro EV

The all-new contract hire Kia Niro EV features a 64.8 kW lithium-ion battery and an electric motor producing 201 bhp with torque of 255 Nm.

It has a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 7.8 seconds, and the battery will deliver a range of 285 miles.

Recharging takes 45 minutes to reach 80% of capacity, that’s nine minutes faster than its predecessor.

The all-new Niro Hybrid features a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 32kW motor delivering 43 bhp for a maximum output of 139 bhp.

New ‘green zone’ driving mode

There’s also a new ‘green zone’ driving mode that will switch automatically between petrol and electric power, depending on satnav guidance and the driver selecting the power mode manually.

Kia says that the system will recognise when it is in built-up areas, or close to hospitals and schools and will implement the green zone offering to run on battery power alone.

The new Niro plug-in hybrid also uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a larger 62 kW electric motor delivering 83 bhp. The combined power for the plug-in hybrid is 180 bhp.

It has an all-electric range of 40 miles which should meet the needs of most UK commuters.

It also has the ‘green zone’ driving mode and a six-speed automatic transmission for delivering the power.

Equipment for the new Kia Niro lease range

Equipment levels for the new Kia Niro lease range are impressive with the firm’s simple choice of trim levels across the three variants.

The plug-in hybrid and hybrid ‘2’ models feature LED headlights, 16-inch alloys, rear parking sensors and cloth upholstery.

There’s also an 8.0-inch display with DAB radio, smartphone compatibility and a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display.

Driver assistance technologies include smart cruise control and a forward collision avoidance system that will recognise cyclists, pedestrians and other cars.

EV ‘2’ models have an 8.0-inch display

The EV ‘2’ models have an 8.0-inch display with a 10.25-inch instrument display and an 11-kW onboard charger, 17-inch alloys and a heating system for the battery.

Other models feature larger alloys, satnav, faux leather upholstery and front parking sensors.

There’s also keyless smart entry, rear privacy glass, blind spot collision avoidance, highway driving assist.

The top models, the ‘3’, feature a head-up display, a larger touchscreen, a top-end premium sound system, electric sunroof, premium relaxation seating and parking collision avoidance assistance.

The Kia Niro car lease range has been a popular choice with UK drivers wanting a contract hire EV to impress and the latest model will continue its success story.
