For those who are looking for more highly specified and attractive special editions, the Audi RS4 and RS5 Carbon Editions are worth a closer look.

Audi says they deliver a sound alternative to the firm’s ‘standard’ cars and include a number of additions and improvements.

The new models are not production limited and will add motorsport inspired carbon fibre reinforced polymer detailing as well as a fully exposed carbon fibre roof for the RS5.

The Audi RS5 also features 20-inch milled alloy wheels, an RS sports exhaust and matrix LED headlamps and also privacy glass.

As should be expected, there is great performance for the Audi RS4 and RS5 Carbon Editions with a new 2.9 litre TFSI engine producing 450 PS with torque of 600Nm.

The engine will produce an impressive 0 to 62 mph time of just 3.9 seconds for the RS5, the RS4 is slightly slower, and there’s a top speed of 155 mph which can be increased to 174 mph.

Handling is boosted with the standard specification including quattro drive with rear sport differential and the RS sport suspension featuring dynamic ride control. There’s also dynamic steering available.

Other standard features include the firm’s excellent virtual cockpit which has specific RS displays, satnav and Audi’s infotainment services.

The interior for the Audi RS4 and RS5 Carbon Editions will be nothing short of luxurious with deeply contoured Nappa leather with RS super sport seats and contrasting stitching.

Safety features for the cars include a multi-collision brake assist system, a side blind spot warning system and is also the option of a driver assistance pack which will include cross traffic assist rear alert and active lane assist.

For those who want to ensure their pride and joy can be manoeuvred easily, there’s also an option for ‘turn assist’ which will help just about every aspect of driving these new models from negotiating a difficult junction on a busy road to reversing out of a tight car parking space.

Both models also feature a carbon aluminium style pack so there are various tweaks to the exterior to make it stand out from other Audis. Among these changes are the window surrounds, the new front spoiler and radiator grille.

The milled slots in the aluminium wheels are created using an intensive process that is generally used for super sports cars and for those cars in competition use. The red brake callipers, an important feature, will be visible through the front wheels.

The new Audi RS4 and RS5 Carbon Editions will see the RS5 arriving in December, while the RS4 version will not be available until March next year with prices starting from £71,625.
