It might have been evolved from the A8 but the Audi S8 delivers supercar performance in this special edition.
Developed by the firm’s high-performance division, the Audi S8 is utilising the standard engine output of 520PS and cranking it up to 605PS to help deliver incredible levels of performance.
The impressive turn of speed pitches the car’s performance up against its more famous low-slung supercar rivals.
The new car is available for ordering in October and will be priced at £97,700 OTR with deliveries starting next January.
The S8 has the highest output of any car in the firm’s line-up helped with a largely aluminium ‘Space Frame’ to make the S8 incredibly light and the firm’s 4.0litre TFSI engine which has 750Nm of torque to use.
Audi S8 has the biggest power to weight ratio
Audi says this is the biggest power to weight ratio of any all-wheel drive premium saloon available today.
The engine utilises an over-boost function is help deliver maximum torque and it will race from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. This is not only the fastest S8 ever it’s also the quickest car in the Audi range.
The top speed has been electronically limited to 155 mph though with the dynamic optional package, owners can then increase this to 189 mph.
Because that’s an incredible speed, Audi have added carbon fibre reinforced ceramic brakes that are ‘fade resistant’ to help bring the car to a stop.
There’s no doubt that the Audi S8 is impressive at speed and it’s also fun to drive with all that power controlled by an eight speed auto gearbox and the firm’s Quattro all-wheel drive.

There’s also a sports differential between the rear wheels to help control direction and the chassis features an adaptive air suspension with dynamic steering.
The cabin is a comfortable place to be with comfort sports seats which come with 22 different functions.
Standard equipment on this great performing car include a parking system which has a top view camera, privacy glass, adaptive cruise control, power door closure and hands-free bootlid.
There’s also a 14 speaker Bose sound system and a wide range of other impressive kit too.
To help the Audi S8 stand out from the crowd it has a sports exhaust, unique alloy wheels, power door closure and a carbon fibre spoiler lip, as part of its UK spec.
