Engines for the BMW 8 Series Convertible
From launch, there are two engines for the BMW 8 Series Convertible, including a six-cylinder diesel and V8 petrol unit.
The petrol engine produces 530 HP, while the diesel unit will produce 320 HP.
Both units deliver excellent levels of performance and there’s a model-specific sports exhaust system for each engine.
The petrol engine will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds, while the diesel unit will accelerate in 5.2 seconds.
Both units are coupled to the firm’s eight-speed Steptronic sports gearbox and the XDrive all-wheel drive system is fitted as standard.
Design language for the BMW 8 Series Convertible
There’s a new design language for the BMW 8 Series Convertible and it’s a stylish vehicle with the roof up or down.
Unlike many other soft tops, when the roof for the 8 Series is folded down, it is placed in a compartment that is flat and helps the car’s design.
Performance is boosted by an active airflow control system that lies behind the adjustable kidney grille slats and in the front apron there are air curtains to boost aerodynamics.
From launch, there are seven metallic and one non-metallic exterior paint finishes available and all are eye-catching.
