It helps that the engine has torque of 600Nm and a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 3.8 seconds and onto 176 mph.
With all this power, Alfa has fitted as standard an all-wheel drive system that features active torque vectoring to keep the vehicle planted on the tarmac.
There’s also a long list of equipment including an 8.8-inch infotainment system complete with satnav and Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio will arrive in the UK by next summer and the firm says the spec and prices will be confirmed nearer to the time but it’s highly likely that with an increasingly competitive SUV segment, the newcomer will be a popular choice.
