They consist of a new 1.0-litre EcoBoost hybrid offering for the Fiesta producing either 125 PS or 155 PS, with fuel economy of 48 mpg, and emissions of 111g/km.

The more powerful engine returns 46 mpg with emissions of 117g/km, and for the variants without the mild hybrid technology, there’s a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit delivering 45 mpg, with emissions of 118g/km.

Most models feature driving modes to boost the driving experience by altering traction control, electronic stability control and the throttle response, as well as the gearshift timings for those Fiestas with an automatic transmission.

Ford is also adding a new 12.3-inch TFT digital display for the Fiesta’s instrument panel.

Drivers can personalise the display to prioritise the information they want to see, including satnav notifications.

Among the advanced driver assistance technologies is a new ‘Wrong Way’ alert which uses a camera and the car’s satnav to deliver a visual and audible warning when the driver passes two no entry signs while heading to a motorway.

Drivers also get adaptive cruise control with stop and go, active park assist and speed sign recognition.

The Fiesta is packed with equipment, including the Sync 3 entertainment and communication system that has live traffic updates and features local hazard information.
