New Range Rover Evoque Convertible impresses

This is the impressive new Range Rover Evoque Convertible which the firm says is the first convertible luxury compact SUV in the world.

Land Rover have now revealed footage of the new car’s final stage of testing in their all-terrain proving ground – and very impressive it is too.

This will be the world’s most capable convertible and it makes its debut in November after passing its punishing testing and development programme.

The Evoque Convertible’s video, which we have posted here on the First Vehicle Leasing blog, reveals how Land Rover’s engineers’ rigorous testing of the vehicle helps it to meet its customers’ expectations.

As a video reveals little is left to chance and the ability to wade through water 500mm is particularly impressive.

However, while many owners of the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible are likely to take the vehicle off-road, it is always reassuring to know that it’s performance is among the very best available should the ability be ever needed.

The new range Rover has a number of systems to help the driver keep control of the vehicle including hill control descent and terrain response. Engineers also promise that the new convertible will be fun to drive on ice and snow.

This will be boosted by the firm’s new Ingenium four-cylinder EU6-compliant engine which has better efficiencies and performance than previous engine.

Indeed, drivers should expect 65 mpg and emissions of 109g/km in the two wheel drive versions.

However, the new Convertible has not just been tested in the mud and water of England, engineers have taken it around the world to ensure it performs ably in its customer markets.

The Range Rover Evoque line-up

We first got to see the new convertible at the Geneva motor show earlier this year and it will, says Land Rover, complete the Range Rover Evoque line-up.

The actual launch of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will take place at the Los Angeles motor show in November and there’s no doubt it will prove to be a big hit.

Range Rover currently exports 80% of its production to 170 countries and this new impressive and stylish car will add to that figure.

California is already a huge market for Range Rover and the potential of having a convertible will undoubtedly boost sales.
