Volkswagen ID.Buzz is a battery-electric 5-seater minivan, or microbus, manufactured by German automaker Volkswagen; the design draws its inspiration from the 1950s Volkswagen Type 2 microbus, which the Westfalia company famously converted to make the VW Camper, an icon of the 60s and 70s.
Launched in 2022, the name ID.Buzz is a play on the word “Bus” and a reference to the sound of the electric motor.
The visual tribute to the first campervans is evident with the modern proportions and the introduction of the latest technology. Choose from a palette of vibrant colours, including two-tone and matching interior highlights, with the seats made from recycled plastic.

Powertrain
The ID.Buzz uses an APP 310 Electric Motor and an 82kWh lithium-ion battery to deliver 204 PS (bhp/148kW) on the rear-wheel drive (RWD) versions or 335 PS (bhp/246kW) on the all-wheel drive (4WD) versions.
The EV range on a full charge is 258 miles, CO2 emissions are zero and recharging from 5%-80% on a DC fast charger takes approximately 30 mins.
Thanks to the floor-based batteries, the low centre of gravity makes the ID.Buzz agile and very manoeuvrable, with a small turning circle of just 11.1 metres, it is easily guided around inner-city streets.
Plug & Charge
A nice feature of the ID.Buzz is the use of the Plug & Charge facility. This technology stores your authenticated data in the car and recognises who you are after the first use of the charger, so no more fiddling with RF Cards and Smartphone Apps.
Interior Space
The boot space underneath the rear parcel shelf measures up to 1121 litres; for context, this car is almost the same wheelbase as a Ford Mach-E but has 3.5 times more boot room. Fold the rear bench seats flat, extending to a massive 2123 litres of boot space.
The fresh and visually pleasing cabin space is equally vast, with lots of headroom, loads of storage pods, and plenty of legroom for four passengers and a Driver; the sliding rear doors make it very easy to get in and out.
All versions of the ID.Buzz comes with an array of safety features, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assistance, and road sign recognition.
