Overview of the Skoda Citigo

Engines and performance for the Skoda Citigo

The all-electric Skoda Citigoe iV is an impressive offering with one electric motor producing 81 bhp to drive the front wheels. The 36.8 kWh battery pack delivers a range of up to 170 miles and the impressive torque of 210NM is dished up instantly. The sprint time for the electric city car is 12.5 seconds from 0 to 62 mph and its top speed is 81 mph. The battery will take one hour to recharge to 80% of its capacity. The alternative is a 1.0 litre petrol engine for the Citigo returning 68 mpg and it's a nimble and powerful performer around town.

Equipment and handling

For those who are looking for an all-electric city car, then the Skoda Citigoe iV will impress. There are two trim levels to choose from with the SE model featuring steel wheels, DAB radio, climate control and remote locking. The next trim offers alloy wheels, heated front seats, ambient interior lighting as well as rear parking sensors. For the money, the electric version offers great value and it's a well-made and well-designed offering. The electric motor version was added to the range in early 2020 and it's mechanically similar to the Seat Mii and the Volkswagen eUp!. The exterior design for the new car has been revamped with new aerodynamic wheels and there are LED daytime running lights fitted as standard. Behind the wheel, the Skoda Citigoe iV is a fun car to drive - it is a small and nimble performer around town and a comfortable motorway cruiser too. The suspension deals with rough roads effectively and it's also a quiet cabin when driving at speed. The interior is a sophisticated offering with some nice design touches. It's also a spacious cabin with room for four people, much like the previous petrol power version. Indeed, the 1.0 litre petrol engine for the Citigo still offers excellent levels of performance and refinement, and it is still has the edge for character. The petrol versions also offer low running costs and are very easy to drive. Along with lots of space, the Citigo is a practical choice in three- or five-door guises with one of the largest boots in its segment. Essentially, the Skoda Citigoe iV is an electric city car offering a decent range for the money and the overall impression is of a grown-up small car that delivers what potential owners are looking for.
