From 2020, the Kia Soul will only be available in its all-electric form - the Soul EV. The all-new Kia Soul EV will travel up to 280 miles on a single charge from its 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery which means there are zero emissions. It will take around 1 hour 15 minutes of recharging to achieve 80% of its charge.
Equipment and handling
The Kia Soul has been around for more than 10 years and the latest incarnation sees the car maturing well. The box-like design lends itself to large windows and it's a spacious cabin that has been well-designed. The all-new Kia Soul EV has just one specification and two-tone paintwork. This is the third generation of what has been a distinctive and funky crossover with sharper details and more equipment on board. Along with unique 17-inch alloy wheels, the cabin has been thoroughly revamped and now offers more functionality and soft touch materials to create a comfortable environment. There is wireless smartphone charging and a customisable head-up display also boosts its attractive qualities and there's an excellent sound system on board too. At the centre of the dashboard is a new 10.25-inch touchscreen which can be customised and which gives access to the Soul's telematics system. There's also Bluetooth connectivity, as well as satnav and information about the weather, live traffic updates and parking availability. As with the previous Kia Soul, safety features are an integral part of the offering, including forward collision avoidance systems, high beam assist, rear cross traffic alert and lane follow assist. There's also electronic stability control, anti-lock braking and emergency stop signalling. The Kia Soul has a lot to offer those wanting a practical mini-SUV and now it's available in all-electric form, it's a car worth taking a closer look at.
