Lexus self-charging hybrids have two power sources: a petrol engine and an electric battery; as you drive the car, it combines the petrol and electric power, seamlessly switching between the two.
Most of the time, while driving, the battery is charging, and when you slow down or stop, the regenerative braking system recovers even more energy. Lexus self-charging hybrids never need to be plugged in.
