Leasing a Vauxhall Corsa
Engines and performance for the Vauxhall Corsa
The Vauxhall Corsa was upgraded in 2018 which saw the introduction of Euro 6.2 compliant 1.4 litre engines across its range. Vauxhall's new petrol engine is mated to a five- or six-speed manual box and there's the option of an automatic transmission. The engine will return around 51 mpg with emissions of 128g/km. Depending on the power output chosen, most Corsa owners will find the engine delivers the sprightly performance they are looking for around town and the engines are smooth on motorways too.
Equipment and handling
The revamp in 2018, saw the Vauxhall Corsa range reduced to seven trim levels, starting with the Active model which has a lot of standard kit including air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen and smartphone connectivity. Options include a new Lux pack for some models which adds tinted rear windows, a rear view camera, climate control and diamond cut alloy wheels. There is plenty of space in the latest version of the Corsa and the new model will be just as spacious. The firm is also introducing a 'segment first' with its IntelliLux LED headlights - which the firm says will be 'revolutionary. The new model will also have more driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and lane keeping assist along with automatic emergency braking. There will also be parking aids and sensors as well as the installation of a panoramic rear view camera, which will boost visibility by 180%. The 2020 model will also have a better quality interior with more style and comfort levels. The touchscreen infotainment system will also be standard with entry-level models having the 7-inch unit with other models in the range being fitted with a 10-inch screen with built-in satnav. The firm will also retain its OnStar system, so there is a direct connection to roadside assistance and also for emergency help. Essentially, the Vauxhall Corsa has been a resounding sales success over the years for the carmaker and for very good reason - it's an excellent choice for those with small families and as a first car. It meets just about every need, with lots of comfort, nice handling and decent levels of economy - and the 2020 model looks like it will build on that reputation with lots of comfort, excellent handling and impressive styling.
