Vauxhall CORSA Review
VAUXHALL CORSA

Which Vauxhall Corsa is Ideal for You?

The Vauxhall Corsa was first launched in 1982 as a three-door front-wheel drive hatchback. It was initially made for the French, Italian, and Spanish supermini markets.

General Motors launched the first car for the UK market a year later, naming it the Vauxhall Nova. The UK launch was delayed because of a seven-month-long union dispute between British workers who were angry as the car was being built in Zaragoza, Spain and not made in the UK.

The top model for the Nova during the 80s was the rare sport model produced in 1985. Sports models were all in white with white wheels and unique decals.

With a  93hp 1.3litre petrol engine and a top speed of 112 mph, there were only 500 cars produced, and it competed successfully in the British rally championships.

Following the success of the Nova, the Corsa name was introduced in 1993 with the launch of the second-generation facelift. The Corsa has become a massive success for Vauxhall in the United Kingdom and became the most popular supermini overall in 2006 and the UK's best-selling car overall in 2021.

Now in its 6th generation, the 5dr hatchback Corsa is as popular as ever; with its stylish looks and superior technology, zippy engines that now include the Corsa-e all-electric model.
