The Audi TT Roadster is an excellent car which will set new standards for efficiency, in-car technology and agility.

From launch, the TT Roadster will have a 2.0litre TFSI petrol engine producing 230 PS available with front wheel drive and the firm’s Quattro all-wheel drive.

The more economical 2.0 litre TDI, which produces 184 PS, will only come with all-wheel drive models and should return around 66mpg and have CO2 emissions of 114g/km.

Speed and performance in the Audi TT Roadster

This diesel unit should still deliver enjoyment and will reach from 0 to 62 mph in 7.3 seconds while having a top speed of 147 mph.

The petrol unit will cover the 0 to 62 mph test in just 4.9 seconds and its top speed is restricted to 155 mph.

The new Audi TT Roadster is a very light vehicle with extensive use of aluminium and steel hybrid construction to help keep the weight down and the chassis has also been upgraded to help deliver performance and agility.

The cabin has a 12.3 inch high res LCD display which fills the driver’s instrument binnacle and has two modes – one offers the speed and revs while the other is infotainment-based.

The display will also tell the driver the outside temperature, mileage and time as well as offering warning symbols and other information.

Essentially, the Audi TT Roadster delivers excellent sports car handling and thrills while having the option of a driving experience.

Once the TT Roadster reaches speeds above 74mph a spoiler will extend from the boot to help provide extra downforce on the rear axle.

The roof itself is well insulated and will lower quickly at speeds of up to 31 mph and the exterior design is aerodynamic and looks familiar to the original TT model.

This is the second member for the TT line-up to be unveiled and while there are two models from launch, the S line and Sport, the TTS Roadster will also prove to be a popular choice.

The TTS will have more kit, be faster and have slightly different styling while offering a breath taking driving experience.

The Audi TT Roadster is available to order from the middle of November with prices ranging from £31,955 OTR with the firm delivering models from next March.

Buyers looking forward to owning the 310PS TTS Roadster will have to wait until early next year to place an order with deliveries of this particular version being made in the second quarter.
