This is the impressive all-new replacement for the Mercedes C63 AMG which comes complete with a new name and a new engine which will produce a blistering 476bhp.
The new name has been changed slightly to Mercedes-AMG C 63 and this elegant car is a major rival to the dominant BMW M3.
Underneath the bonnet is a new hand built biturbo 3,982cc V8 engine to make this the fastest AMG C-Class ever made.
New, more powerful Mercedes-AMG C 63
Despite the power, the new unit is not only lighter and smaller than the engine it replaces but it’s also more powerful and 32% more efficient.
There are two variants with the standard unit producing 476bhp while the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S will produce 510bhp.
There’s also plenty of torque with both units to help deliver blistering performance.
To underline its sporting credentials, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S will rocket from 0 to 62mph in just four seconds.
Great performance for the Mercedes-AMG C 63
In the estate guise, the car will travel that distance in 4.1 seconds. The standard engine will also reach 62 mph in the same time frame with a top speed limited to 155mph.
Mercedes have also opted to use an aluminium and steel chassis to help make the car more agile and dynamic and the firm says it has created a car that’s not only exciting to drive but is a viable choice for every day driving needs.
The boffins have come up with dynamic engine mounts which will reduce vibration and which will alter to suit the driving conditions – they will be softer for normal driving and stiffen for sporty handling.

Available to order from next month, the saloon version of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 will start deliveries early next year with the estate following a few months afterwards.
There’s no indication of how much the Mercedes-AMG C 63 will cost but it should be around £60,000, with the estate models costing slightly more.
