Peugeot wins 2014 Fleet World best new car award

Peugeot 308, European Car of the Year 2014, wins Fleet Award

Peugeot is certainly on a roll. Having recently won the much coveted 2014 European Car of the Year title in March, the new 308 has now been awarded the key accolade at the 2014 Fleet World Honours of ‘Best New Car’ which recognises the appeal of cars in the important Fleet and Business Market.

The new version is 140kg lighter than its predecessor, with a stylish exterior, an ‘i-Cockpit’ inspired interior that combines instrumentation viewed over the smaller steering wheel, a 9.7″ touchscreen control display, a wide range of new PureTech Petrol and BlueHDi Diesel engines – each with class-leading performance and CO2 emissions from just 82g/km.  Available in a five-door Hatchback or SW estate, both with the biggest boot space in their sector, it already has the pedigree for a winning formula.

Fleet World Editor, Steve Moody, commented: “It is the best car Peugeot has launched in years, with super-low emissions, an excellent three cylinder petrol engine, lots of space and a cabin that is as good as anything from a premium brand, if not better. The clever infotainment system also means drivers are distracted less and it’s keenly priced too, making it a major force in fleet”.
