The incredible Porsche Boxter now has a new top level model in the form of the GTS which has a new, more powerful engine and a tweaked chassis to enhance the motoring pleasure.

It’s been around for 20 years now and this two-seater mid-engined roadster really did set the standard for the class and the new model raises the standard even further for open-topped motoring enthusiasts.
The Porsche Boxter GTS is a lightweight car with very responsive handling and an excellent flat-six 3.4litre engine which now has an extra 15hp to bring sportscar performance to the GTS happy owners.

This means that the car – one of the best on-road performers for the money – is now even more exciting. The steering is true and helps to bring confidence when out enjoying those twisting country roads.
Mind you, this is now helped with the GTS having Porsche’s Active Suspension Management fitted as standard and there is the firm’s Sport Chrono package which enables the damper stiffness levels to be modified.
The Sport package will also help improve responsiveness and this ability is particularly noticeable whenever the Boxster GTS is a braking or cornering since the engine mountings will stiffen automatically. Drivers can also change the throttle characteristics.
Supercar performance in the Porsche Boxster GTS
Opt for the seven speed double clutch transmission and use the incredible ‘launch control’ function and the Boxster GTS will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds; that’s 0.3 seconds faster than the standard Boxster S PDK.
The car is certainly no slouch and it has the potential to reach 174mph and its fuel economy will be around 34 mpg.
The Porsche Boxster GTS is an extremely comfortable car to drive and it has leather trim and sports seats fitted as standard and like the firm’s other GTS models the interior ambience is best described as ‘refined’.

Other standard equipment includes Carrera S alloy wheels, air con, black finish Bi-Xenon headlights, stop and-start function, powered fabric roof with heated glass rear window and a top-tinted windscreen.
