Skoda Superb: flagship model gets a facelift

You’d have to be very confident of a car’s abilities to give it a name like that but Skoda have nothing to worry about.

The Skoda Superb has undergone a comprehensive facelift and both the hatch and estate versions are set to make their world premieres later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Skoda’s flagship model impresses with a fresh and attractive design, a new interior and new technology features. The new Skoda Superb will be launched in European markets at the end of June.

The Skoda Superb impresses with improved fuel economy and features new technology as well as having the good values that have made this model line-up a success for 12 years now.

There’s a completely new front and rear with clear lines and balanced proportions. The front of the Skoda Superb, which has been completely redesigned up to the A-pillar, looks much more distinctive.

The Skoda Superb’s grille, car logo, head and fog lights, bumpers, front wings and bonnet are also new and bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights are also available for the first time.

In terms of engines and drive technology, the Skoda Superb is even more attractive with some of the engines saving more than 19% fuel when compared to their predecessors.

There’s also start/stop and kinetic energy recuperation technology which will be standard in all Skoda Superb diesel engines, in addition to the entry-level 1.4 TSI 125PS petrol engine in EU countries.

The Skoda Superb GreenLine offers fuel consumption of just 67.3 mpg, with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.

Prices have yet to be confirmed but won’t be much different to current prices but when the Skoda Superb is available in May it’s probably best to check out their leasing prices as a comparison.
