The Peugeot 208 car lease range has been updated for 2022 and this includes a boost to the e-208’s driving range.

The Peugeot 208 car lease range has been refreshed for 2022 and the update includes a boost to the battery range for the all-electric e-208.

The e-208 will now travel 225 miles on a single charge and prices start at £28,225 – this includes a free six-month subscription to the country’s largest public charging network, bp pulse.

Also, Peugeot says it is responding to customer feedback and has streamlined the 208’s trim levels.

Drivers can now order the stylish car in GT Premium, GT, Allure Premium and Active Premium.

The Allure variant has now been dropped.

The powertrains for the contract hire Peugeot 208 include a 1.2-litre petrol unit for the GT Premium and there’s the all-electric e-208 GT Premium.

The e-208 has a 50kWh battery and an electric motor producing 136hp and it will support rapid 100kW charging so the battery can be recharged to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes.

One of the big attractions for the contract hire e-208 is for the 0% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for 2021/2022.

The range improvement for the battery-powered vehicle is the result of several efficiencies, including making the heat pump more effective.

There’s also a new gearbox ratio that will help to boost the electric range when travelling at high speeds.

Other 208 models have a choice of two efficient petrol units with either the firm’s six- or seven-speed manual gearbox, or their eight-speed automatic transmission.

There’s also a more distinctive sporty look for the Allure Premium and Active Premium models.

Peugeot says it has also boosted the fuel consumption for its diesel, petrol and electric models with most trims having 16-inch class A+ tyres fitted that deliver lower rolling resistance and better fuel efficiency.

The firm is also adding lots of equipment including alloy wheels, a compact steering wheel, their i-Cockpit, a 7.0-inch colour display and a 3.5-inch inch instrument panel.

Allure Premium lease features a 3D head-up instrument panel

The 208 Allure Premium lease features a 3D head-up instrument panel, automatic windscreen wipers and a colour reversing camera.

There’s also new LED headlights and a gloss black finish to the car’s B-pillar.

The GT variant adds larger alloy wheels, some exterior styling tweaks and ambient lighting for the cabin. There’s also a 10.0-inch colour display that has satnav.

The range-topping GT Premium adds black Alcantara seats, keyless entry, stop and go function, adaptive cruise control and lane positioning assist.
