The latest Peugeot 308 car lease model, and the 308 SW, are now available to order.

And, for the first time, they are also available to lease with a plug-in hybrid powertrain to deliver better fuel consumption figures.

This is also the first Peugeot to wear the firm’s new emblem and the logo is also home to the radar sensors utilised by the car’s autonomous driving aids.

Contract hire Peugeot 308

The powertrain choices for the contract hire Peugeot 308 and the 308 SW include diesel and petrol engines, along with the plug-in hybrid.

From launch, there are two hybrids available, and both feature a 12.4kWh battery, with a 1.6-litre petrol unit.

The battery delivers a range of 40 miles and the hybrid versions will be attractive to company car drivers with a Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate of 7% for 2021-2022.

The hybrid also features a 3.7kW onboard charger, with the option of a 7.4kW charger.

The battery will take just under four hours to charge from a standard wall box, but with the more powerful charger, this time will reduce to 2 hours.

The engines are mated to the firm’s eight-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers also get the Peugeot’s next-generation i-Cockpit, plus there’s a 10.0-inch colour display for the infotainment system and a new multi-function steering wheel.

The new infotainment system allows drivers to create their own profile and two smartphones can also be connected to the system.

The new car is slightly longer

The cabin is also more spacious than the model it replaces because the new car is slightly longer to deliver a boot size of 608 litres, which will expand to 1634 litres.

Safety kit includes lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, traffic sign recognition and programmable cruise control, plus there’s an active safety brake system with cyclist and pedestrian detection.

The new technology for the Peugeot 308 includes a 360° surround view parking assistance system, rear cross traffic alert, a long-range blind spot detection offering and full matrix LED headlights.
