The new model will offer the largest range of powertrains than it has had before with drivers able to choose from diesel, petrol, hybrid and mild-hybrid vehicles.
Kia is also promising that a plug-in hybrid will appear in the Spring, while all other powertrains are available from launch.
The Sportage also delivers a new design identity and helps to bring on-road presence.
Contract hire Kia Sportage
Powertrain choices for the contract hire Kia Sportage include a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), for the first time which uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine to develop 226 bhp.
The plug-in hybrid will offer 261 bhp and the diesel and petrol engines are also available with or without the firm’s 48-volt mild hybrid system.
The power for all models is delivered using either a seven-speed automatic transmission, or a six-speed manual box.
Though the PHEV and HEV variants will only be supplied with the automatic gearbox.
Trim structure for the new Sportage
The trim structure for the new Sportage is the same as every other model that comes from Kia.
The entry-level model is the ‘12’ which has lots of equipment and the choice of two engines – either a 1.6-litre petrol unit producing 148 bhp and priced at £26,745.
Or the alternative which is a 1.6-litre diesel unit producing 113 bhp and it is priced from £27,745.
They both come with the six-speed manual gearbox, alloy wheels, rear and front parking sensors with a reversing camera, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and electrically adjustable and folding door mirrors.
Safety features include a forward collision avoidance system that will detect cyclists and pedestrians to alert the driver, lane keep assist, lane following assist, hill start assist and intelligent speed limit assist.
The stylish Sportage range
Other models in the stylish Sportage range feature larger alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch display that has satnav, leather upholstery, rear privacy glass and sports pedals.
The ‘3’ specification includes a 12.3-inch digital display, paddle shifters for the models with automatic transmission and smart cruise control.
There’s also the ‘4’ spec that adds a panoramic sunroof, a premium sound system and wireless phone charging.
The GT-Line S is the flagship with some very impressive styling features, as well as front ventilated seats, smart powered tailgate and power-adjustable seats with memory function.
