New Volkswagen Golf Estate arrives in showrooms

new VW Golf Estate lease

The new contract hire Volkswagen Golf Estate has arrived and has more style, space and equipment.

This is the latest Volkswagen Golf Estate, and it is a larger, better-equipped contract hire offering than the model it replaces.

The estate now joins its hatchback siblings and there are three well-equipped models to choose from.

The entry-level choice is the VW Golf Estate Life which has a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 110 PS and a six-speed manual gearbox for £24,575.

And, just like the new Golf hatchback range, the new Golf Estate is the most comfortable version of the car that VW has made yet.

Options for the VW Golf Estate contract hire models include mild-hybrid engine technology.

Volkswagen has also added cutting-edge driver and safety assistance systems.

There’s also a new Golf Alltrack variant which has higher ground clearance and the firm’s all-wheel drive 4Motion offering.

Other engines for the range include a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 130 PS or 150 PS, and there’s also a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing either 115 PS or 150 PS.

The mild-hybrid units use a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, along with VW’s seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The new Volkswagen Golf Variant R-Line

The VW Golf Estate car lease has a longer roofline and a more muscular stance than the model it replaces.

The extra space means there’s plenty of room for five adults with a boot size of 611 litres, which expands with the rear seats folded flat to 1,642 litres.

Along with the entry level Life, VW is also offering the Style and R-Line trims.

Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, ambient lighting, a multifunction steering wheel and a 10-inch colour touchscreen.

There’s also Bluetooth connectivity, a satnav system and smartphone connectivity along with VW’s eCall system for calling the emergency services automatically in an accident.

The model also comes with a high-resolution digital instrument cluster, dynamic road sign display, rear and front parking sensors and lane keeping assist.

Models in the VW Golf Estate range

Other models in the VW Golf Estate range come with larger alloy wheels, front sport seats, three-zone climate control, traffic jam assist and high beam assist.

The range-topping R-Line estate offers metallic alloy wheels, tinted glass, side and door trim panels, a heated three-spoke leather steering wheel and body-coloured bumpers.

The R-Line also offers a sporty performance with sports suspension, progressive steering and driving profile selection.
