The specification for the new Hyundai Kona has been confirmed, along with prices.

The prices and specification for the new Hyundai Kona hybrid have been confirmed.

The 2021 models will now feature hybrid, or mild-hybrid technology.

The Kona range prices will start at £21,060 and the new models will be in showrooms from the middle of January 2021.

The compact SUV has been comprehensively updated and now includes a sporty N Line trim for the first time.

The new Kona N Line will offer sporty dynamics and has a unique design at the rear and front, along with a range of interior enhancements.

Along with improved connectivity, the suspension has been revised and the Kona’s design, both outside and inside, has been enhanced.

The result is that comfort levels are much higher for the driver and passengers.

The new Kona will have the firm’s 1.0-litre Smartstream petrol engine, along with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup and six-speed ‘intelligent manual transmission’.

Hybrid Hyundai Kona

The hybrid Kona has a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.56kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

These vehicles will use a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

This clutch will operate electronically and was first seen in the new Hyundai i30, as well as the all-new i20.

The contract hire Hyundai Kona comes with lots of equipment as standard, including LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and body-coloured door mirrors.

There’s also a new rear spoiler that has an LED brake light integrated into it.

Standard kit also includes electric windows, air-conditioning and a digital instrument display, and there’s an eight-inch touchscreen for the rear-view camera and infotainment system.

Safety features for all models includes lane following assist, forward collision avoidance systems and leading vehicle departure alert.

Range-topper for the Hyundai Kona hybrid

The range-topper for the Hyundai Kona hybrid is the Ultimate trim which features an electric tilt and slide sunroof, electric front seat adjustment and rear cross traffic collision warning.

There’s also parking sensors and an electric parking brake.

The range-topping petrol version uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit that produces 195bhp for good levels of performance.

It’s also available as either a front- or four-wheel drive car and has the power delivered using a seven-speed automatic transmission.
