Revamped Nissan Leaf gets more tech

Lease the Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf has had more equipment added for 2021 – and some models are cheaper.

The all-electric Nissan Leaf has been revamped by the carmaker with lower prices and more technology being added – and it’s still a great car lease opportunity.

The popular electric hatchback is being updated in time for the new Volkswagen ID.3 being launched – which will cause a stir in an increasingly competitive segment.

Entry-level prices for the Leaf remain the same, as do the prices for the better spec e+ N-Connecta and e+ N-Tec.

Price for the Nissan Leaf e+ Tekna

However, the price for the Nissan Leaf e+ Tekna has dropped to £34,710 – that’s a £1,685 reduction.

Also, Nissan is lowering the price of some options for the Leaf, including the cost of their ProPilot system, the firm’s excellent semi-autonomous driving offering, and for their parking assist system.

The improvements to the Nissan Leaf include a new blind spot intervention system to help improve overall safety for the car and the occupants.

There’s also a new telescopic steering wheel which is now fully adjustable for both rake and reach to make it easier to find the ideal driving position.

Shark fin antenna

Some models also get a shark fin antenna which Nissan says will help reduce the Leaf’s overall height to deliver better access for garages, for example. They also say the shark fin on the Leaf will boost the exterior design.

There’s also a new intelligent rear view mirror that Nissan says delivers high-quality images, regardless of the weather conditions and the time of day – for example, during sunset or sunrise conditions.

This mirror features an LCD monitor and will display images from a camera placed at the rear of the car to give a better view of following traffic.

The new mirror enables drivers to see clearly should the vehicle behind be using strong headlights that may be dazzling them.

It also means that the driver will not have to struggle to see what may be behind because passengers are sat in the rear seats.

Nissan Leaf is a more comfortable car to drive

This will make the Nissan Leaf a more comfortable car to drive and safer too.

There are still two powertrains to choose from; the entry-level Leaf has a 40kWh battery for the 148bhp electric motor to deliver a range of 168 miles.

The e+ N-Connecta model has a 62kWh battery for the 214bhp electric motor to deliver a range of 239 miles. The 0 to 62 mph sprint time for this model is less than seven seconds.

2021 model year for the Nissan Leaf

The 2021 model year for the Nissan Leaf also sees the introduction of ceramic grey stylish paint choice.

It’s available as a two-tone design, along with a pearl black metallic paint. Some other paint options have been discontinued for the new model.

The new Nissan Leaf is still one of the best car lease choices for electric cars, and demand for it is still high.
