New Hyundai i20 spec revealed

Contract hire Hyundai i20 model

The specifications and prices for the new contract hire Hyundai i20 have been revealed, and there’s a lot to like.

This is the all-new Hyundai i20 which features the carmaker’s new design language.

Prices for the supermini start from £18,595 and it is the latest electrified model to join the carmaker’s line-up.

The new model is also larger than the version it replaces.

There’s a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that has been mated with a 48v mild hybrid powertrain to help boost fuel economy.

Enjoy the Hyundai i20’s power

Drivers get to enjoy the Hyundai i20’s power of 100 PS with torque of 172Nm and emissions of 115g/km – to make this an interesting car leasing choice.

The engine is mated to the firm’s latest six-speed manual transmission, or there’s the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The new i20 should also be a safe car since it has Hyundai’s SmartSense safety package. This includes lots of passive and active safety systems to protect the car’s occupants.

Among the safety kit features are forward collision alert, intelligent speed limit warning, drive attention alert and lane-keep assist.

There’s also the reassuring offer of Hyundai’s e-Call system that will contact emergency services should a collision or accident be detected.

The new i20 line-up also follows on from the successful relaunch of the Hyundai i10 earlier this year with a simplified model choice for the range.

There’s a lot of equipment too, with the standard spec including alloy wheels and LED running lights with a cornering function.

The 8-inch display has smartphone compatibility, and there’s an impressive 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

This digital cockpit has various customisable options, and there’s also cruise control, manual air-conditioning and rear parking sensors – plus there’s a rear-view camera fitted.

High spec trim level for the Hyundai i20

There’s a new high spec trim level for the Hyundai i20 called the Ultimate – which is a sound car leasing choice.

These models feature a two-tone roof, smart keyless entry, a wireless charging pad, forward collision assist and warning.

The range-topper also features a Bose premium sound system for the first time, with eight high-performance speakers and a subwoofer.

In 2021, Hyundai is promising more trims for the UK, including the N hot hatch model which will have a number of mechanical and sporty styling changes to make it more distinct from other i20s – and take on the Ford Fiesta ST.

This is only the second high-performance N model that has been produced by Hyundai – and it is worth considering if you want to enjoy a contract hire supermini with super levels of performance.
