Alfa Mito and Giulietta
The Italian carmaker will extend the warranties on its Mito and Giulietta models from three years to five. The news comes as the sporting car brand launches the Alfa MiTo TwinAir – featuring the award winning 875cc twin-cylinder turbo engine with variable intake valve technology.
Alfa’s new extended warranty will consist of 36 months’ unlimited mileage warranty, plus a further 24 months’ mechanical warranty on all Alfa MiTo and Giulietta retail purchases. The additional cover protects the vehicle against manufacturer defects and component faults†.
In a nod to customers’ concerns a spokesman said: “Our strategy for the brand is all about attracting new customers. However, we appreciate in the current climate consumers are more risk averse and likely to stay with what they know.
“The Alfa Romeo brand has always had a strong emotional pull but we also have complete confidence in its rational credentials and believe our new extended five year warranty provides the retail car buyer with complete peace of mind.”
The promotional five-year warranty will be available to retail customers until 30 September 2012.
From my experience this could be an incredibly brave move by Alfa but time will tell!
