The specification and prices for the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid have been unveiled.

This is the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid which is available from the end of September.

The new Hyundai Kona Hybrid is the firm’s latest electrified model, joining the likes of the refreshed Ioniq and Nexo.

There is a 48V hybrid combustion engine system which is taken from the proven Ioniq Hybrid and uses a 1.6 litre petrol engine and a 1.56 kWh battery.

The 32 kW motor will deliver a maximum system power of 141 PS and useful torque of 265 Nm.

The power is delivered to the front wheels utilising a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Hyundai Kona Hybrid uses a multi-link rear suspension

It’s not just a pretty face though, since the Hyundai Kona Hybrid uses a multi-link rear suspension to boost driving experience and also practicality.

Indeed, the combined hybrid power has a towing capacity, for those that need it, of up to 1,300 kg.

Some models also feature BlueLink which is a smartphone app to enable drivers to carry out various functions including unlocking the doors remotely and reminding them of their vehicle’s location.

The link will also help alert drivers of nearby off-street and street parking facilities as well as fuel stations and prices.

The entry level model features climate control, steering wheel mounted gearshift paddles and an electric parking brake.

The top model, the Kona Hybrid Premium features a high level of equipment including a premium sound system and keyless entry.
