This is the all-new Kia Ceed GT which delivers a high performance experience with a high degree of fun and will be making its debut at the Paris motor show.

Originally unveiled in 2013, along with the ProCeed GT, these were the first performance hatchbacks from Kia and the new models offer much more.

Along with an engaging drive, the revamped 1.6 litre turbocharged engine delivers a powerful performance.

It helps too that there is a wide range of safety, comfort and convenience technologies on board.

Engine for the Kia Ceed GT

The engine for the Kia Ceed GT is an improved version of the 1.6 litre T-GDi unit, which is actually a petrol engine, that develops 204 PS and is mated to a six speed manual gearbox.

Kia says it will reveal the acceleration data closer to the official launch but drivers should be expecting a quick time from an engine developing torque of 265 Nm across the rev range.

There’s also, thanks to demand from European buyers, the option of the firm’s seven-speed dual clutch transmission for rapid progression through the gears when needed.

This clutch has been developed in-house and has a drive mode select system so drivers can alter their experiences between sport and normal for improved fuel efficiency and with the sport mode they will get enhanced transmission and throttle responses.
