The brand-new Peugeot 508 SW may be entering a declining market place but for those wanting a stylish and spacious estate car, there’s a lot to recommend it.

Not only does it have a fresh design with a dynamic body shape and lots of space on board, there’s also lots of equipment.

Peugeot says it’s bringing the radical styling traits we see on saloon cars and bringing them to the estate with the new car’s dimensions offering a dynamic body style. The car measures 4.78 m in length and 1.42 m in height.

New Peugeot 508 SW will have more efficient engines

The carmaker says its new Peugeot 508 SW will have more efficient engines to deliver the best-in-class emissions figures with either the BlueHDMI or PureTech engines.

There are two petrol choices, the 225 S&S EAT8 and the 180 S&S EAT8, which are based on the firm’s 1.6 litre petrol engine.

There are four diesel choices including 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre options with both the petrol and diesel units meeting the latest environmental demands.

The petrol engines, when in eco-mode and twinned with the EAT8 gearbox, will see the engine switching automatically to a freewheeling mode which reduces fuel consumption by 3% and eases internal gearbox friction. The function will work between 15 mph and 80 mph.
