This is the stylish new Kia Rio GT-Line which has been unveiled by the carmaker and has a new sport-inspired specification.

There are also new alloy wheels and a sporty exterior trim.

The car will go on sale in the spring and there is a lot to recommend it as it follows in the steps of recent GT-Line additions to the Picanto, Sportage and Sorento line-ups.

The new Kia Rio GT-Line has a 1.0 litre turbocharged T-GDI engine that produces 118 bhp and helps to deliver the car’s responsiveness and versatility.

The Rio is a light car so drivers should be looking at fuel economy of 60 mpg and emissions of 107g/km, when coupled to the six speed manual box.

Later in 2018, the GT-Line is to be offered with a 1.25 litre and their 1.4 litre petrol MPi – multipoint injection – engine and the firm’s seven-speed double clutch gearbox.

The Kia Rio GT-Line is packed with technology and safety features including a large 7-inch floating touchscreen which includes satnav, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smartphone integration.

There’s also a heated steering wheel and seats and a rear parking camera.

Kia says the new car will be one of the safest cars it has made and features advanced high strength steel as well as six airbags to boost on-board safety.

There’s also forward collision assistance that has pedestrian recognition and also lane keeping and departure warning.

Kia says the Rio GT-Line will also feature its new driver attention warning system that will sound an alert when drowsy or distracted drivers show a lapse in concentration.
