The new Citroen C4 Cactus is as bold and as modern looking as it has ever been and it’s also an impressive compact hatchback.

It’s also the first Citroen model to feature the firm’s new suspension system that they have called ‘progressive hydraulic cushions’ so it feels like the occupants are on a ‘magic carpet’.

It is also, Citroen adds, the world’s first vehicle to have advanced comfort seats to boost refinement levels.

Citroen C4 Cactus will have the latest engines

The Citroen C4 Cactus will have the latest generation of engines to help deliver impressive levels of performance.

The new model will see the gearboxes and engines being tuned for city driving with the PureTech three-cylinder petrol units featuring better responsiveness than the previous engines did.

There’s a choice of the turbocharged PureTech 130 which is coupled to a six speed manual box and also the turbocharged PureTech 110 with a choice of a five-speed manual or six speed automatic transmission.

The diesel units include the BlueHDi 100 which is coupled to a manual gearbox and later next year will be a stop-start version of the engine. There’s also the option of an automatic gearbox with the BlueHDi which has been created for high mileage drivers to enjoy.

There’s also a good list of customisation options with standard kit including LED ceiling lights, electrically folding door mirrors, an electro-chrome interior rearview mirror and one touch electric windows.

Along with the advanced comfort seats, Citroen has also boosted the acoustic insulation levels so the vehicle is a quiet place to enjoy long journeys and there’s a surprising amount of cabin space.

Among the customisation options is a choice of nine body colours and the four colour packs available help create a unique C4 Cactus.

The new Citroen C4 Cactus is an impressive creation and orders will be taken in the New Year when prices and full spec details will be revealed.
