The new Vauxhall Grandland X delivers an interesting alternative to a competitive segment.

At last, the excellent all-new Vauxhall Grandland X is available to order and it’s a cracking offering in a competitive segment.

With its rugged and sporty looks, the new SUV will seat five people comfortably with a decent amount of boot space.

Along with good all-round visibility, the Grandland X has lots of safety technology on board, and at nearly 4.5 metres in length, it is Vauxhall’s largest SUV.

This means it offers larger cabin space than the shorter Crossland X and the Mokka X.

Engines for the Vauxhall Grandland X

From launch, the engines for the Vauxhall Grandland X will include a choice of two; a 1.2 litre turbo petrol unit producing 130 PS which has economy of 55 mpg on the combined cycle.

There’s also a 1.6 litre turbodiesel unit producing 120 PS which has economy of 70 mpg and up to 81 mpg on the extra urban cycle. The engines are connected to a choice of a six speed manual box or a six speed automatic transmission.

Vauxhall has also boosted efficiency and performance with various weight saving measures which also boost the amount of space on board.

The firm says its Grandland X compact SUV is one of the most frugal available on the market today.
