The Vignale model portfolio has been something of a surprise bestseller for the Blue Oval and along with the Kuga Vignale there’s also the Ford Kuga Vignale joining the list.

The Kuga is the smaller of the two new models and both deliver exclusive spec and extensive use of premium materials including leather upholstery interiors.

Among the engine choices for the Kuga Vignale are the fuel-efficient 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol unit producing 182 PS and returning 45 mpg with emissions of 145g/km, while the Edge gets a new twin-turbocharged TDCI diesel unit producing 210 PS and returning to 60 mpg with emissions of 122g/km.

The new models also come with unique colours and some unique exterior design tweaks and Ford’s intelligent all-wheel drive system is fitted to some models to deliver torque to the wheel that needs it most when necessary.

There’s also active noise control fitted as standard which helps create a quiet environment by cancelling out any engine noise.

Ford is looking to cash-in on a rapidly growing segment with the SUV market growing by over 25% last year and Ford says that more than 80% of the Kugas it sold were high spec Titanium models.

Essentially, the Kuga Vignale is based on the new Ford Kuga though it comes with 19 inch polished aluminium wheels, a unique upper grille design and the interior has been redesigned for this model as well.

The new Ford Kuga Vignale effectively becomes the flagship car for the range with prices starting at £30,795 for the front wheel drive model fitted with the 2.0 litre TDCI diesel unit producing 148 bhp.
