The new VW Scirocco GT Black Edition will turn heads

The impressive Volkswagen Scirocco has been boosted with two new special editions which add value and style.

The third generation of the Sirocco is an all-round excellent offering and first appeared on our roads last year.

With its distinctive wide appearance and low stance, it’s a good-looking sports coupe which has been boosted now Volkswagen has unveiled its Scirocco Black Editions: they are the Sirocco R-Line Black Edition and the Sirocco GT Black Edition.

They will appear as distinctive models since they come with black painted alloy wheels, door mirrors and rear spoiler as well as a black painted contrast roof. The rear windows are also 90% tinted.

While both special editions come with black alloy wheels, the GT has 18 inch rims while the R-Line gets 19 inch wheels. The special editions come with a premium of at least £550 – the 18-inch alloy wheels would be a £600 option on the GT while the tinted windows would cost £70 separately.

The stylish Volkswagen Scirocco Black Edition

Under the stylish Volkswagen Scirocco Black Edition bonnet, VW has made available six turbocharged direct injection diesel or petrol engines. The fastest will return 35 mpg while the most frugal Volkswagen Scirocco will return 67 mpg.

Most models come with BlueMotion to keep motoring costs down so they have a brake energy recuperation system and stop/start. The range-topper R model doesn’t have the same BlueMotion engines available.

The petrol engines consist of a 1.4 litre unit that produces 125 PS and there’s a 2.0 litre unit producing 180 PS. Both diesel engines are 2.0litre and produce either 150 PS or 184 PS.

Depending on the engine choice, the Volkswagen Scirocco Black Editions will sprint from 0 to 62 mph between 5.5 seconds and 9.3 seconds. Their top speed has been limited and these range from 126 mph and 155 mph.
